ABC Kitchen is a good NYC restaurant for brunch, business meals, casual dates, celebrity sightings, group brunch, big groups, entertaining out of town friends, people watching, small plates and spotting beautiful people. Here are more details:
Good For Brunch & Group Brunch: It’s usually shockingly easy to get a table here for brunch, even for bigger groups. There will be a little bit of a wait so you might want to avoid if you’re starving in the mornings but once you’re seated, it’s well worth the wait.
Good For Celebrity Sightings: Obama eats here almost every time he’s in town and I’ve personally spotted Ryan Reynolds, Adam Levine (with whichever super model he was dating at the time), John Mayer and several others.
Good For Lunch & Business Meals: Just as chic during the day as it is as night, this is a great place to go for a casual lunch or business lunch.
Good For People Watching: You can overlook the street while sitting at the bar which bakes waiting for your table much more entertaining. Once inside, the crowd is equally as interesting.
Address For ABC Kitchen: 35 E. 18th St. (between Park and Broadway – Flatiron/Gramercy)
As I’m sure you’ve noticed, I happen to be a huge fan of Jean-Georges and everything he does (except, oddly, Jean Georges - which I think is hit or miss). The chef’s ABC Kitchen has been one of my go-tos for years due to the huge selection of really delicious vegetarian food – something that can actually not be said of as many places in NYC as you’d think.
Every meal here is an experience, from the moment you walk in you’re hit by the gorgeous decor, crowds of beautiful, sophisticated people and wafts of mouth watering spices. Having a drink at the bar or window next to it can be as much fun as actually having brunch or dinner and people watching is at its prime here – both inside and out. You really just can’t go wrong here at any time of day or for any event. Unless, of course, the president is town…
