I stopped by Bar Nana – which soft opened this past Saturday, September 7 – for the Theyskens’ Theory after party last night. Though I generally look at Fashion Week events as more of an obligation, the open atmosphere and properly dance-able tunes at this revamped lounge resulted in a genuinely enjoyable evening.
The club, located in the Meatpacking District and known as The Double Seven before this revamp, is more laid-back than most of its neighbors – while still exhibiting an energetic and fun atmosphere. Meaning it’s currently a good spot for girls’ and guys’ nights out, music and dancing, entertaining out of town friends and meeting both hot girls and rich guys. It officially opens to the public today, September 10.
Good For Music and Dancing: Banquets line the outside of the main room, many of which look out over the wide open space in the center – leaving plenty of room for dancing. While this can lead to kind of a fishbowl feel, the music (and cocktails) are so good that you’ll forget you’re being watched as you get down all night.
Good For Girls’ Nights Out: In addition to the dance floor, the space has a great bar area where you can lounge with cocktails amongst bookshelves and great art – a perfect place to have a few drinks and chat. The server and hostess uniforms are designed by Olivier Theyskens so you can also get a fashion fix while boozing with the ladies.
