Marc Forgione, formerly called Forge, shares a name with its owner, an “Iron Chef” winner and apparent collector of Michelin Stars (he has three). The restaurant has a chic, dark, rustic feel and a creative, seasonal, “market-driven” menu to match.
It’s a great restaurant for boozy brunch – with an unlimited cocktail offering, which is rarely seen as higher-end restaurants – as well as casual dates, large groups, business dinners, outdoor seating, romantic dates, small bites, beautiful people watching and entertaining out of town friends. More info below:
Good For Romantic Dates: The dark, cozy vibe makes for an intimate setting if you’re seated either towards the back of the restaurant or outside. That, combined with a selection of light, flavorful dishes and a unique wine list make this a great spot for a date. However, it also maintains a chill atmosphere, meaning it can work for more casual outings as well – especially if you just grab a drink at the bar.
Good For Outdoor Seating: There are a decent amount of tables outside and it’s located on a really quiet street in Tribeca – which means, if you’re looking to escape the craziness of the city, this is a perfect choice for outdoor dining.
Good For Big Group Meals: With advance notice, the main room is equipped to handle big groups – or, if you’re looking for something private – they offer family style options for bigger parties in the back room.
