Sushi Yasuda in Midtown is a good NYC restaurant for business meals, lunch, entertaining out of town friends, parent visits and romantic dates. Here are some more tips:
Good For Business Meals/Lunches: Located in Midtown and open for lunch every weekday, this restaurant is perfect for entertaining clients from out of town or hosting a meeting with someone you’re looking to impress with a great meal. The vast majority of the crowd is always suited up so you’ll fit right in for this purpose.
Good For Entertaining Out Of Town Friends: Particularly those from Los Angeles who claim there is no good sushi in NYC. While, admittedly, that is often the truth, this is the one exception. They will be shocked by the quality of ingredients and skills of the chefs – particularly if Chef Yasuda himself is in town.
Good For Parent Visits: In his last piece as New York Times food critic, Frank Bruni names Sushi Yasuda as his favorite restaurant in NYC. As the food is relatively high-priced, this is great place to go if your parents are footing the bill and also happen to appreciate a really good meal.
Good For Romantic Dates: If you can book a table at the sushi bar, particularly at Chef Yasuda’s station (if he’s in town), the combination of food and atmosphere make this an incredibly impressive choice for a date. The sake list is extensive and, even if your date is a vegetarian, the vegetable rolls are really inventive making it still beyond acceptable.
